JobObjective
The Safety Manager is a leading performer that will execute organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This role plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.
Duties and Responsibilities- Analyze and classify risks and losses and measure financial impact upon the company.
- Design and direct programs to reduce accidents, occupational illness, and exposure to long term health hazards.
- Train employees and management in safety practices.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Review plans and specifications for construction or purchase of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
- Conduct safety audits, record, and rate severity level, and assign responsibility for corrective actions.
- Coach site-specific leadership team on the expectations, tools, and implementation of the Safety Management System.
- Track and monitor SMS level specific KPIs.
- Create and continually improve SMS specific training such as Supervisor Hazard identification/Mitigation, Supervisor Safety Communication Skills, Roles, and Responsibilities.
- Ensure the integrity of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 6-8 years of job-related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Safety training and certificates preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety disciplines, other regulatory guidelines, and common industrial safety practices.
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
- Recognized cross-functionally as an expert within one or two subject matter areas.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player and able to handle multiple projects at once.
- High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.

- This role may work in classrooms, offices, and high-traffic production floors.
- Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead. May be required to act in senior role, providing task related advice and direction to junior team members.
