Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for monitoring in-transit shipments, maintaining real-time shipment visibility, and proactively managing transportation exceptions. This role serves as a key liaison between carriers, internal operations teams, and customers to ensure on-time delivery, effective communication, and rapid issue resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation lifecycle.
  • Maintain real-time visibility of loads and shipment status updates.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve shipment delays and service disruptions.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, and exceptions to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Escalate operational issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Support service, delivery, and customer satisfaction performance goals.
  • Maintain accurate transportation records and system updates.
  • Prepare reports and provide operational support as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless freight movement.
Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, carriers, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or shipment tracking platforms.
  • Knowledge of truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), or brokerage operations.
  • Experience managing customer communications and service exception resolution.
  • Understanding of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, customer service, or a related operations environment preferred.
Work Environment:

This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
