Material Handler I
Pay Rate- Entry Rate: $18.54
- 3‑Month Increase: $19.66
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 am–4:30 pm
- Operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to the packing station or shipping area.
- Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as pulling/assembling customer orders, checking outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restocking and labeling vendor products, maintaining displays (tools, caulk, etc.), moving, storing, and replenishing material, and conducting daily cycle counts.
- Perform receiving duties such as receiving and unloading inbound material, processing inbound shipments, stocking material, processing customer returns, and notifying management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
- Operate forklift and order‑picker equipment.
- Maintain the clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom, and general office maintenance, etc.
- Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to management.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- 1‑year sit‑down forklift operator experience required.
- 1‑year previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good record‑keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Basic English speaking and understanding.
- Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Must be Dal‑Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
- The associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
- The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The associate may be required to sit, climb, or balance.
- The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- The average number of picks per hour is 25, with an average weight between 40–70 lbs; heavier picks (50–70 lbs) constitute 65 % of the shift and lighter items (20–40 lbs) 35 % of the shift.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Weather conditions may vary, and the noise level is usually loud.
