Dal‑Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Lead Operator to join our TEAM! As the Lead Operator, we need someone who is ready to operate any piece of equipment in the absence of any personnel on shift and is able to supervise the MDF/HDF raw board production crew in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.

Primary Objective

Operates any piece of equipment in the absence of any personnel on shift. Supervises the MDF/HDF raw board production crew in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.

Major Function and Scope
  • Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental standards from chip unloading through the raw board stackers
  • Ensures safe and healthy working conditions
  • Assists the Shift Supervisor that all company policies are adhered to
  • Operates vital equipment to the process in the absence of shift personnel
  • Performs root cause analysis on problems
  • Assists the Shift Supervisor in raw board production and takes action to minimize downtime
  • Monitors raw board quality and takes actions to eliminate problems impacting it
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous process improvement
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years manufacturing experience.
  • Competencies include strong communication and interpersonal skills, listening skills, data analysis and interpretation. Ability to plan, schedule, and clearly communicate thoughts and work instructions. Ability to set priorities based on company goals and manage multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
