Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale is seeking a Med Surg/Tele Nursing Supervisor to lead front‑line staff in collaboration with the Nursing Manager or Nursing Director. The supervisor serves as a conduit between front‑line nursing employees and managers to facilitate communication, oversee orientation of new team members, and evaluate clinical practice with a focus on quality and performance improvement.
Responsibilities- Responsible for development and performance of assigned team members.
- Plan and execute day‑to‑day operational needs by setting priorities, planning for staffing, and coordinating work across other teams.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members and participate in performance reviews.
- Monitor key metrics and analyze data to improve team performance.
- Serve in various clinical nursing roles (e.g., direct care nurse, charge nurse).
- Provide technical guidance and conduct rounds with staff.
- Mentor staff and provide developmental opportunities.
- Advocate for patients and staff, addressing ethical and clinical concerns.
- Ensure staff meet patient care standards, safety, and regulatory readiness.
- Manage new‑hire scheduling and balance staff schedules.
- Conduct unit environmental rounds and ensure clean sweeps.
- Ensure patient health information (PHI) is protected and infection prevention initiatives are adhered to.
- Review reports and ensure accurate timecards for payroll.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and staff to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain a body of knowledge and tools to manage patient encounters.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing. - Current Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Basic EKG course completion within one year of hire.
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Effective communication skills in English; additional languages preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
