Lead with Purpose. Drive Clinical Excellence. Make a Real Impact.
We're seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Nursing Director of Inpatient Services to lead high-performing teams across Med-Surg/Telemetry, ICU, and Cardiac Specialty Unit (CSU). This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll shape patient care delivery, elevate clinical outcomes, and build a culture of excellence.
If you're a strong clinical leader ready to step into (or grow within) a Director-level role-even if you're coming from a Manager or Supervisor background-this is a rare opportunity to accelerate your career.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Community-based hospital with advanced specialty services typically found in larger systems
- Strong executive visibility and partnership with the CNO
- Opportunity to lead multiple service lines and drive measurable outcomes
- Expanding footprint with robust outpatient services across the region
- A culture that values innovation, evidence-based practice, and leadership development
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor Nurse Managers and frontline teams across multiple inpatient units
- Drive both short- and long-term strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, staffing, and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
- Champion evidence-based practice (EBP) to improve outcomes and reduce risk
- Manage departmental budgets and staffing productivity (HPPD)
- Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Partner with leadership to enhance patient satisfaction (HCAHPS/Press Ganey)
- Build and sustain high-performing teams through coaching and mentorship
- Oversee orientation, education, and ongoing professional development
- Promote a strong culture aligned with the organization's mission and values
- Work closely with physicians, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as a key advisor to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- Address patient and physician concerns with professionalism and urgency
Required
- Active Texas RN License (must be your primary state)
- BLS & ACLS (AHA) certifications
- 3+ years of acute care experience (ICU + Med-Surg/Telemetry)
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership presence, and communication skills
- Prior leadership experience (Manager/Supervisor or above)
- Bachelor's in Nursing (Master's preferred)
- National certification in specialty area
- Experience with quality improvement, budgeting, and staff development
About the Organization
This hospital blends the personalized feel of a community facility with the capabilities of a larger medical center. With extensive outpatient services-including imaging, wound care, sleep medicine, rehab, and freestanding EDs-it serves a rapidly growing population across Sunnyvale, Forney, Mesquite, Seagoville, and surrounding areas.
What Success Looks Like
- High-performing, engaged nursing teams
- Improved clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction scores
- Efficient staffing and budget management
- Strong alignment with organizational goals and culture
