Nursing Supervisor - Emergency Room

Job Summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a EMERGENCY ROOM NURSING SUPERVISOR that will be responsible for providing leadership to the front line staff in collaboration with the Nursing Manager or Nursing Director. Serves as a conduit between the front-line nursing employees and managers for the purpose of facilitating communication, overseeing orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Clinical Educators, and evaluating clinical practice with a particular focus on quality and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop ER nursing staff
• Manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and workflow coordination
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvement
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards
• Provide clinical support as needed (charge or direct care)
• Foster a team-oriented environment focused on patient care, safety, and experience
• Conduct rounding, provide feedback, and support staff engagement and retention
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Current Texas RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications
• CPI certification required
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Basic computer proficiency
