ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred
• Ability to float within skillset as needed

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ER environment
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients with acute conditions (e.g., chest pain, abdominal pain, respiratory distress)
• Assist with emergency procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
