- Med Surg/Telemetry We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director to oversee a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit at a respected acute care hospital in Sunnyvale, Texas. This leadership role is accountable for clinical excellence, operational oversight, fiscal performance, and team development within the department. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strong nursing leader who is passionate about quality outcomes, staff mentorship, and advancing evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Med Surg/Telemetry department
- Oversee staffing productivity and ensure appropriate resource allocation
- Monitor and improve patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction metrics
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and performance improvement initiatives
- Mentor nurse managers and frontline leaders using evidence-based leadership practices
- Collaborate closely with physicians, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to nursing standards of practice
- Lead policy development, review, and implementation
- Support orientation, ongoing education, and competency validation for nursing staff
- Step into administrative responsibilities in the absence of executive nursing leadership
What We're Looking For:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master's degree preferred - 3-5+ years of progressive leadership experience in acute care
- Strong background in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, staffing productivity (HPPD), and quality metrics
- Experience improving patient satisfaction (HCAHPS) and performance indicators
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead in high-pressure environments
