The Safety Coordinator is an entry‑level role that provides support in implementing and maintaining safety policies and programs by coordinating, delivering, and keeping records on safety training to promote an accident‑free workplace that complies with local, state, and federal laws. This role helps promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by helping to collaborate with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.

Duties

and Responsibilities of the Position
  • Ensure practices comply with Mohawk and government safety regulations.
  • Create and maintain detailed safety records.
  • Assist with safety audits in facilities to ensure that regulations are being followed, correct any unsanctioned practices, and identify any gaps in training.
  • Assist in investigations of accidents and near‑misses.
  • Communicate regularly with other safety personnel to ensure that there is consistency throughout the company.
  • Monitor safety statistics and respond to trends and patterns.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 0‑2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
Competencies
  • Applies conceptual knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
