Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Commercial Sales & Front Office Associate (Sod, Stone & Materials)

Overview

We’re looking for a reliable, sales‑minded person to help customers, support daily orders, and grow commercial relationships for our sod, stone, and aggregate materials business.

This is a hybrid role for someone who can communicate well, stay organized, follow up consistently, and build trust with customers. You do not need to come from the sod or landscape supply industry. We can train the product knowledge. What matters most is that you are dependable, professional, willing to learn, and motivated to help grow the business.

You will work with a mix of homeowners, contractors, landscapers, builders, property managers, and other commercial customers. Some days will involve helping customers in the office, answering calls, and coordinating orders. Other days may involve following up on leads, reaching out to commercial prospects, and helping build repeat customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Support
  • Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Help customers with questions about sod, stone, aggregate materials, delivery, pickup, and basic order options.
  • Learn our products, pricing, availability, and order process over time.
  • Provide a professional and helpful customer experience.
  • Follow up with customers quickly and clearly.
  • Help identify opportunities to increase sales and repeat business.
Order Coordination
  • Create quotes, invoices, and sales orders using company systems.
  • Enter customer and order information accurately.
  • Help coordinate pickups, deliveries, and order details with the operations team.
  • Communicate clearly with yard staff, drivers, and management.
  • Help make sure orders are handled accurately and customer requests do not fall through the cracks.
  • Maintain an organized front office and sales workflow.
Commercial Sales Development
  • Follow up on inbound leads from phone calls, email, website forms, referrals, and walk-in customers.
  • Reach out to potential commercial customers such as contractors, landscapers, builders, property managers, HOAs, nurseries, and local organizations.
  • Build relationships with repeat buyers and commercial accounts.
  • Track prospects, quotes, follow-ups, and customer activity.
  • Help grow a steady pipeline of commercial sales opportunities.
  • Look for ways to turn one‑time customers into repeat accounts.
Communication & Teamwork
  • Work closely with operations to confirm availability, pricing, scheduling, and delivery details.
  • Share customer feedback, common questions, market trends, and sales opportunities with leadership.
  • Help protect customer relationships by communicating clearly and following through.
  • Represent the company professionally in every customer interaction.
Qualifications Required
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized.
  • Comfortable talking with customers in person, on the phone, and by email.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning company systems.
  • Able to multitask in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Willing to learn sod, stone, aggregate materials, delivery, and basic industry terms.
  • Self‑motivated and able to follow up without constant reminders.
  • Positive attitude and team‑first mindset.
Preferred, But Not Required
  • Experience in sales, customer service, account management, retail, construction, landscaping, building materials, agriculture, or related industries.
  • Experience with quoting, invoicing, CRM systems, Quick Books, or similar tools.
  • Existing relationships with contractors, landscapers, builders, or property managers.
  • Conversational Spanish or willingness to learn.

  • Bonus opportunities for hitting growth targets.
  • Mileage reimbursement may be considered for approved customer visits.
  • Health insurance benefit…
