Material Handler II - Putaway 1st Shift

Primary Objective

Operate various powered industrial trucks to transport product from receiving department to stock shelves.

1st: M-F, 5:00am-1:30pm

• Sit-Down Forklift
• Stand-Up/Reach Forklift
• Order Picker/Cherry Picker Forklift

• Picking
  • Operate powered industrial truck(s) to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
  • Key order into Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy
  • Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping areas
• Receiving
  • Operate various powered industrial trucks to receive product into warehouse and prepare for stocking
  • Open crates and inspect product
  • Apply labels to product according to established procedures
  • Verify shading of product and place into accurate warehouse location
• Putaway
  • Utilize powered industrial equipment to move product into pre-designated areas within warehouse once received
  • Key location of product into inventory control system and place product onto shelves
  • Ensure product is placed into accurate location
• SPC Check/Pack Checking
  • Wrap and pack products by hand into boxes for shipping
  • Label boxes with packing slip
  • Load boxes into conveyor belt
  • Verify orders for accuracy
• General
  • Monitor equipment or processes and report problems to supervisor
  • Follow standard operating and safety procedures
  • Keep area safe, clean, and organized
  • Perform other related duties as required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Must have a minimum of six months to 1 year of sit-down forklift, reach truck, and OP experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak English.
• Ability to work in a safe conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
