Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse

The Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse at Colorado Urologic Surgery Center – Superior provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients. The nurse continually evaluates patient condition, ensures safety, comfort, and privacy, assists physicians in the procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques, and provides comprehensive patient care for patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. The nurse conducts assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

• Provide continuous nursing care to patients in preoperative and postoperative (PACU) settings.
• Assist physicians with procedures, including conscious sedation and sterile technique application.
• Evaluate patient condition continuously, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Perform assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care plans for patients emerging from anesthesia.
• Communicate with patients’ families and coordinate care for discharge preparation.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet unit needs.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
