Are you a numbers expert with a passion for the construction world? We are partnering with a fast-growing, family-owned construction business in Superior, WI, to find a local, highly motivated Controller. If you thrive in a hands-on environment where your work directly impacts the company's growth and financial health, we want to talk to you.

  • Role Type:
    Direct Hire
  • Salary: $100k - $125k (commensurate with experience)
  • Schedule:

    Full-time, Mon-Fri (In-office hours between 8 AM - 6 PM)
Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed accurately.
  • Handle general ledger maintenance, reconcile bank accounts, and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor accounting data to produce timely financial statements and reports that help guide business decisions.
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting, tax filings, and prepare the necessary paperwork for audits.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a strong background in managing both AP and AR.
  • Hands‑on experience within the construction industry is a must.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision, and have a sharp eye for error‑free work.
  • Can identify financial issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Foundation Software, Ecosys, or similar construction‑specific accounting tools.
  • Knowledge of job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, retainage, and change orders.
  • Familiarity with Union reporting and local/state/federal compliance requirements.
