Job Summary
TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Success Coach – a year‑long academic, social, and personal development mentorship program designed to prepare incoming SSS students for a rewarding college career. Pay: $13 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications- Completed at least one academic semester of college.
- Active Participant in Student Support Services.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Interest in working with students.
- Basic understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere through cooperative communication with students, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Dedication to SSS goals and to fellow participants.
- Committed to networking with diverse students across all levels of college life.
- Consistent communication with supervisor throughout the term.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of available technology, including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Basic knowledge of campus resources.
- Provide coverage of the TRIO Suite front desk and phone for 2 hours per week, greeting callers and visitors courteously.
- Advise students who drop into the Suite on TRIO SSS & TRIO McNair application, eligibility, and participation.
- Meet weekly with the TRIO SSS Program Coordinator to discuss project progress, goals, obstacles, and support needs (1 hour per week).
- Create a professional development plan with the Program Coordinator to guide ongoing personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and other Success Coaches to plan upcoming events and address ongoing issues (1 hour per week).
- Participate in required work‑related trainings.
- Advise and connect SSS students with campus resources.
- Co‑develop SSS‑sponsored workshops and events.
- Help evaluate current programs/events, identify problems, and suggest solutions.
- Attend and participate in SSS‑sponsored workshops and events.
- Assist with special projects and other assignments as needed.
