Electrical Reliability Engineer

- Drive electrical equipment availability and reliability improvements across assigned units.
- Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for electrical equipment failures that meet defined thresholds and implement corrective actions.
- Lead unit vulnerability studies and develop reliability roadmaps, including long-term reliability plans and performance goals.
- Develop obsolescence strategies and long‑range mitigation plans for underperforming electrical equipment.
- Govern and administer electrical condition monitoring programs, including transformer oil analysis, PDMA testing, heat‑trace alarms, and motor vibration monitoring.
- Maintain ETAP electrical distribution and arc‑flash models, and develop protective device settings to ensure system accuracy and safety.
- Ensure compliance with electrical area classification, NEC, local/state codes, and Cenovus electrical construction standards while serving as the utility provider interface.
- Provide technical support for maintenance planning and capital projects, including design package development, drawing reviews, specification verification, and support through FEL, MOC, PSSR, and design review phases.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Eight or more years of experience operating a refinery or chemical plant with similar responsibilities.
- Knowledge of electrical reliability best practices and participation in reliability improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in using tools such as ETAP, PDMA testing, and electrical condition monitoring systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to failure analysis and corrective action planning.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
