Are you passionate about using technology to improve the safety, reliability, and performance of critical energy infrastructure? Join Enbridge's Pipeline Control Systems & Leak Detection (PCSLD) team and play a key role in supporting the systems that monitor, control, and protect one of North America's largest liquids pipeline networks! In this highly impactful role, you'll work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and innovation, designing and advancing pipeline control systems, leak detection technologies, SCADA platforms, and data communications infrastructure that are essential to safe and reliable operations.
You'll collaborate with Regional Operations, the Control Centre (CCO), and multi-functional engineering teams to solve complex challenges, deliver strategic projects, and drive continuous improvement across the system. If you're looking for a chance to create a meaningful impact, influence critical operational decisions, and help build the future of pipeline technology, we invite you to bring your expertise to a team that values safety, collaboration, technical excellence, and innovation.
you will do
- Design, implement, optimize, and maintain pipeline control systems, leak detection, SCADA, and data communication systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient pipeline operations, expansions, and system upgrades.
- Lead or support the execution of capital projects, including development of cost estimates, capital budget inputs, execution strategies, and business case justifications, while collaborating with Regional Operations, the Control Centre (CCO), PCSLD teams, engineering, and project partners to ensure successful delivery and alignment with operational requirements.
- Provide timely engineering and technical support to Regional Operations and the Control Centre, including troubleshooting, resolving operational issues, participating in root cause investigations, and providing 24/7 on‑call support as necessary to maintain system reliability.
- Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of pipeline control systems, leak detection, SCADA, and automation standards, specifications, and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate requirements and industry standard methodologies.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders—including Regional Operations, the Control Centre, PCSLD teams, engineering, and project teams—as well as vendors and service providers to deliver safe, compliant, and high‑performing solutions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal collaborators across the PCSLD function, including Project Engineering, Business Development, Regional Operations, Control Centre (CCO), Pipeline Control, and Supply Chain.
- Prioritize and coordinate activities that may impact project cost, schedule, and execution, with potential implications to operational performance and company revenue.
- 4+ years of relevant engineering experience along with a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain and maintain a passport for cross‑border travel to Canada as needed.
- Working knowledge of PLC hardware, programming, and industrial communication systems used in pipeline or similar industrial operations.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, assess system‑wide impacts, and apply sound engineering judgment to support safe and reliable operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners, vendors, and service providers.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing demands, and deliver results in a dynamic operating environment.
