Job TitleCompliance Specialist
Position SummaryPrimary responsibility is for enforcing state water pollution control laws; responding to complaints and emergencies related to permitted facilities; preparing wastewater discharge permits; and inspecting and providing compliance assistance to municipalities and industries in the management of their wastewater collection and treatment facilities. Regulated wastewater facilities include major and minor municipal, as well as complex industrial systems.
The entry level position performs under close supervision.
The senior level position performs under general supervision.
Salary InformationStarting pay is between $30.00 to $35.00 per hour (or $62,400 to $72,800 annually), for the Entry level.
Starting pay is between $32.00 to $37.00 per hour (or $66,560 to $76,960 annually), for the Senior level.

Physical/ Environmental Factors
:
This position will spend a majority of time talking, listening, seeing, handling, fingering, sitting and walking. This position will also spend time standing, carrying, lifting, reaching, climbing, bending at the waist, kneeling and crouching. Activities of this position occur primarily inside. There may be situations involving sufficient noise to cause the employee to shout to be heard. There may be exposure to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and/or conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin, such as fumes or odors that could result in bodily injury.
Travel
:
The position’s primary geographic scope will be Northeast and/or Northern Region. Routine travel within the assigned geographic area is expected along with occasional overnight travel for wastewater program assistance to other regions, meetings and training.
