Maintenance Supervisor – AMSOIL INC.
AMSOIL INC. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the activities of the maintenance workers working on the 2nd shift (Monday - Friday 2:30pm to 10:30pm). The Maintenance Supervisor will provide direct support and leadership for the Maintenance Technicians.
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team to ensure equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition. It involves planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and driving continuous improvement in reliability and performance.
Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work orders and PM’s.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for team members.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work with Maintenance Manager to assess skill gaps and recommend training opportunities.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure all equipment and systems are maintained according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Collaborate with production and the Maintenance Planner to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
- Prioritize work orders based on urgency, impact, and resource availability.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of tools and materials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR and other Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections; escalate unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and use of PPE.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance initiatives.
- Recommend upgrades or replacements of aging equipment.
- Provide recommendations on operational cost reductions.
- Two-year technical degree in Industrial Automation or Maintenance or equivalent combination of related training and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in an Industrial Maintenance role.
- Experience working in a high-volume production facility.
- Experience leading or managing others.
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) License (preferred)
- OSHA 30 Training (preferred)
- NFPA 70E Training (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insurable for driving AMSOIL vehicles.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in PLC’s, motor controls, HVAC, VFD’s, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in CMMS (Limble) usage including writing PM’s, creating dashboards, inventory management & work order management.
- Ability to collaborate with outside contractors and internal resources to accomplish assigned projects in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented attitude.
- Competent in JD Edwards (or comparable ERP system) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Works, and P&n programs.
- Familiar with fluid dynamics and design of pumping systems.
- Ability to use a systematic approach to solving problems and driving improvements in our Maintenance department processes and related manufacturing systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment and maintenance.
- Good understanding of contract maintenance concepts.
- Ability to create bid packages and RFQ’s for projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of building and facility maintenance work.
- Experience in building fire and security alarm systems.
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
