What'syour day like?
As a Welder/Fabricator at Lake Assault Boats, you will play a pivotal role in manufacturing aluminum boats tailored to our diverse clientele. Your responsibilities include:
- Analyzing engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan layout and assembly operations.
- Using MIG and TIG welding skills to produce high‑quality welds in various positions, ensuring every component meets regulatory specifications and safety standards.
- Operating safety equipment and a variety of power‑assisted tools, maintaining a keen focus on quality and accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation, loading, and unloading of high‑speed watercraft, adapting to variable weather conditions.
Key qualifications and skills for this role include:
- Robust skill set in welding, fabrication, and fitting, with knowledge of aluminum welding and standard build practices in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures with limited supervision while conducting basic problem‑solving under guidance.
- Effective communication skills for clear conveyance of information to supervisors and managers.
- Strong mathematical abilities, critical thinking, and time‑management skills.
- Physical stamina for grasping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and navigating tight spaces.
- Preferred:
Weld Certificate or technical education, and successful completion of a qualification test.
Position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing ability, visual acuity, and the ability to work in tight spaces. Must be able to work in areas that are not environmentally controlled and move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs. Ability to get underway with high‑speed watercraft in variable weather conditions is required.
Compensation & BenefitsPay ranges from $17.50 to $34.12 per hour based on experience and skill level. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Paid Time Off, and Equipment Stipend.
Other RequirementsFinal applicants must complete a pre‑employment drug screen prior to employment start. All offers of employment are contingent upon negative results of a pre‑employment drug screen.
