Using welding and other tools we join aluminum components to fabricate custom aluminum boats. Our customers include the US Navy and multiple police and fire departments. What'syour day like?
As a Welder/Fabricator at Lake Assault Boats, you'll play a pivotal role in manufacturing aluminum boats tailored to our diverse clientele. Your expertise will be essential as you analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to meticulously plan layout and assembly operations.
- Utilize MIG and TIG welding skills to produce high‑quality welds in various positions, ensuring every component meets regulatory specifications and safety standards.
- Operate safety equipment and a variety of power‑assisted tools.
- Assist in the preparation, loading, and unloading of high‑speed watercraft, adapting to variable weather conditions.

What You Need To Be Successful- Robust skill set in welding, fabrication, and fitting.
- Knowledge and expertise in aluminum welding and familiarity with standard build practices in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures with limited supervision while conducting basic problem‑solving under guidance.
- Effective communication skills to convey information clearly to supervisors and managers.
- Strong mathematical abilities and active listening.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills to evaluate alternative solutions.
- Time‑management skills for prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina required: grasping, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs, navigating tight spaces.
- Preferable Weld Certificate or technical education.
- Must pass a qualification test.
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing ability, visual acuity.
- Work in tight spaces using manufacturing equipment in areas that may be not environmentally controlled.
- Move, lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate high‑speed watercraft in variable weather conditions.
