SUMMARY: Provide assistance to the Child Care Program Manager with the District’s before/after School programs, as assigned. Provide a safe, supervised and secure environment for school-age children enrolled in Before/After School Programs; provide an opportunity for children to participate in a variety of activities, including core activities, homework time and enrichment opportunities. Provide leadership and supervision to program staff and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist in supervision of the district’s before/after school programs ensuring smooth and effective operations and the adherence with applicable health, safety and licensing rules and regulations; maintains confidentiality and ethical standards
- Develop and assist with activity planning; secure substitutes for coverage of staff absences within programs
- Supervise, discipline, and evaluate staff work performance and skills
- Assist with the collaboration, delegation, and shared leadership
- Assist with the management of parent complaints concerning program and staff issues
- Participates in staff-development and professional development activities
- Assist with ordering equipment and supplies
- Assist in processing participant applications and establishing student files
- Collect, process, and report tuition revenues
- Provide adequate supervision both inside and outside
- Practice appropriate discipline techniques with children
- Maintain a professional manner including confidentiality and appropriate communication with staff, students and community
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A teacher‑caregiver is 21 years of age or older and provides the licensee with documentation of ONE of the following:
- Six months of child care experience AND:
- A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma; OR
- At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least six credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely‑related field;
- Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely‑related field; OR
- National Administrator Credential (N.A.C.), Child Development Association (C.D.A.), or Child Care Professional (C.C.P.) credential.
LICENSING/
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid CPR First Aid certification.
- Valid Food Handler Card
- Valid Level I Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
- Provide negative tuberculosis skin test results
KNOWLEDGE OF:
