This Special Education Teacher position is a 16‑week contract based in Surprise, Arizona, offering pay up to $53 per hour depending on experience. The role supports students with individualized education plans in a school setting. Candidates must hold relevant credentials and provide required compliance documentation.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs
Deliver instructional strategies tailored to each student’s learning profile
Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate students into classroom activities
Conduct progress assessments and adjust instructional plans accordingly
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and instructional interventions
Participate in team meetings and parent conferences
Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Arizona Special Education Certification (ADE) for K‑12 roles
Valid Arizona Early Childhood Special Education Certification (ADE) for Preschool
Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card, front and back
CPR certification from an accredited agency (in person only) for Preschool
First Aid certification from an accredited agency (in person only) for Preschool
Valid NCI Training Certificate for Preschool
Valid Food Handlers card for Preschool
Negative Mantoux TB Skin Test within 12 months of hire or written statement of TB‑free status within 6 months for Preschool
Driver’s license (front and back)
Social Security Card
Two letters of recommendation (Supervisor, Co‑worker, Personal) for Preschool licensing
Minimum 1 year of experience in special education
