Educational Consultant

Role Description The Educational Consultant is a contract, on-site role based in Arizona and/or Western New Mexico. This role focuses on supporting elementary educators and school leaders through classroom observations, data-informed recommendations, and collaborative planning sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing curriculum and instructional materials, modeling effective teaching strategies, and facilitating professional learning for staff. The consultant will meet with school teams to discuss student progress, provide guidance on interventions, and help implement school-wide initiatives.

The role also involves preparing clear documentation, reports, and action plans that align with school goals and state standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Job-Embedded Coaching and Modeling:

• Coach teachers to implement and sustain best instructional practices in their classrooms.
• Differentiate instruction and support based on teacher/student need.
• Engage in the Student Centered Coaching Cycle with educators.
• Regular and ongoing communication with teachers and school.

Data-Based Decision Making:

• Support teachers, teams, departments and administrators with data analysis and instructional next steps.

Administrator Coaching:

• Support Administrators as Instructional Leaders in their buildings.
• Regular and ongoing communication with school and district leaders.

Required Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree in Education or related field required; M.A. in Education preferred.
• Strong foundation in Elementary or Secondary Education and classroom practices.
• Experience of fering workshops/coaching to teachers.
• Demonstrate a minimum of ten years of success as an educator.
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Ability to plan strategically with and coach school leaders and classroom teachers.
• Ability to provide instructional support relating to effective teaching strategies for teachers across content areas.
• Excellent ability to present content to large and small groups (effective presentation skills).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

• Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to successful performance in this role.

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel up to 70%, including airline and automobile travel.
• This position requires candidates to have a reliable method of transportation to perform their job duties.

Salary Range - $50,000-$115,000

Empower Educational Consultants work as Contractors for Empower Education Connections. Salary is dependent on the number of days completed with a contracted school.
