We re partnering with a school district in Surprise, AZ to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a specialized classroom serving students with significant support needs during the 2026–2027 school year.
In this role, you ll provide individualized, evidence-based instruction in a highly supportive classroom environment designed for students with specific disabilities, such as autism, behavioral needs, or functional life skills. You ll collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning experience that promotes academic, social, behavioral, and functional growth.
Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction aligned with students IEP goals and individualized learning needs.
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans and instructional strategies.
- Foster a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, behavior specialists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Utilize behavior support strategies, social-emotional learning practices, and evidence-based interventions as appropriate.
- Incorporate adaptive technology, sensory supports, and visual supports to maximize student success.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families and school staff.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience working with students with autism, behavioral needs, intellectual disabilities, or other significant support needs preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavior intervention strategies.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.
