Job Description
The NETA Field Test Technician will inspect, test, collect data and maintain electrical equipment at client sites. The equipment includes switchboards, panel boards, transformers, cabling etc. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and other protective devices.
Responsibilities- Low, Medium, and High voltage switch gear and circuit breaker testing
- Testing of medium-voltage cables Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
- Power transformer testing Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
- Test both electro-mechanical, microprocessor and solid-state relays
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment function.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
- Previous level II, III or IV NETA Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Able to work overtime and travel out of town as needed.
- Able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
- Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and able to lift 70 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Minimum 3 years experience in NETA Testing.
- General PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft programs.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelors or associate degree in Electrical/Electronic technology, or Military experience
- OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training
- Experience with PowerDB
- At least 2 or more years of relevant experience.
