The OSP Project Manager is a vital part of the overall Wyyerd team. Wyyerd has near-term plans to dramatically accelerate expansion of its FTTH fiber plant throughout Arizona. The OSP Engineering PM is responsible for working with outside plant engineers, municipalities and others to enable the rapid deployment of a Backbone infrastructure and FTTH fiber network.
ResponsibilitiesDefine and manage the end‑to‑end Engineering process of a fiber network within communities, residential developments and main roadways throughout major cities/municipalities throughout Arizona.
OSP PM is responsible for coordinating with all internal teams as to the project plan for all parcels or backbone starting construction.
The PM is responsible for coordinating all design with City officials, engineering vendors, and other agencies to ensure on time project start.
The PM is responsible for all reporting on daily production of all engineering firms under the PM’s management.
The PM is responsible for coordinating with the engineering manager, and OSP engineers on the team to ensure daily logs are being updated and approved for reporting purposes.
The PM is responsible for coordinating with the Development team to discuss and schedule meetings with HOA’s or community leaders prior to the start of any design work. They are required to understand all rules and regulations for working in HOA governed developments.
Oversee the management of engineering vendors to ensure daily production is being met and on schedule for end‑of‑month delivery of backbone, open trench opportunities, and homes passed.
Coordinate with the construction team on any post‑engineering conflicts to find timely resolutions.
Communicate effectively with all teams and individuals, internal and external, involved in the end‑to‑end engineering process.
Identify roadblocks for management and identify/recommend solutions.
Work with the contracts manager to generate MSA’s or PSA’s prior to vendor awards.
Maintain organized trackers, records, and other data needed for daily reporting or for internal metrics.
Effectively forecast, track, and report results on a daily basis on daily conference calls or in office meetings.
Work weekends on an as‑needed basis to ensure delivery of homes passed.
Other duties as required.
Must report to the office on a daily basis.
Experience/QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
College degree and/or equivalent 3 to 5 years experience in OSP fiber engineering or Project Management.
Positive attitude, willingness, and eagerness to learn new processes and systems, team player.
Ability to understand/manage the FTTH network engineering and construction process.
Working computer knowledge, Microsoft Office knowledge, GIS mapping experience and in-depth experience with Excel spreadsheets.
Understanding and interpreting fiber construction maps/drawings.
Experience with City/Municipalities permitting process a plus.
Must have a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a drug test.
Understanding of OSP/ISP lit fiber services.
Ability to work across teams and help wherever and whenever possible to support the end to end engineering process.
Additional RequirementsRequires sitting, hearing and talking, occasional standing and walking, and infrequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, kneeling, walking on uneven surfaces, squeezing and crouching.
Requires infrequent lifting and carrying of from 1-40 pounds.
