- Oversee staffing activities within a designated region
- Partner with Operational management to implement timely, cost-effective initiatives aligned with regional and corporate objectives
- Identify and cultivate sources for hiring experienced and entry-level personnel
- Use networking, colleague referrals, Internet Mining technology, staffing technology, and competitor candidate databases
- Develop and maintain candidate relationship and pipeline management strategies
- Manage the regional recruiting budget through cost-effective advertising and third-party recruiters
- Develop preferred supplier lists and negotiate discounted contract rates with third-party recruiters
- Screen, interview, and test job applicants
- Maintain applicant databases using electronic recruiting software
- Provide regional staffing metrics and track colleague retention
- Consult with regional management regarding turnover issues
- Train and mentor hiring managers and Colleague Resource Generalists on electronic recruiting software
- Train hiring managers in Behavioral Interviewing Techniques and candidate assessment tools
- Support and train Colleague Resources Generalists in staffing techniques
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Travel as required
- Four or more years of staffing experience
- Three years as a direct recruiter in a high-volume, difficult-to-source industry
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- PHR or SPHR Certification preferred
- Insurance industry recruiting experience preferred
- Experience with recruiting software preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Working knowledge of e-recruiting concepts and systems
- Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
- PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
- Preferred candidate location in central, mountain, or pacific time zones
- Ability to travel as required
Demonstrates expertise in staffing activities, including candidate sourcing, relationship management, and recruitment budget management. Proficient in using electronic recruiting software and knowledgeable in employment laws and practices.
