Air Conditioned / Climate Controlled Camfil is Hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic in Surprise, AZ 1 st Shift -- Full Time BENEFITS

- Installation of new equipment
- Ensure manufacturing and facility equipment are running safely and efficiently
- Trouble shoot, repair, and maintain machinery and facilities
- Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to, remove, and replace defective parts
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance for the machinery and the facility
- Ability to repair or replace electric components such as photo eyes, contractors, proximity sensors, motors, push buttons, etc.
- Ability to run conduit and connect equipment to power source
- Ability to modify and fabricate various fixtures, equipment, racks, and machinery as needed
- Assist with facility planning and equipment installations
- Work with equipment such as welders, grinders, drill presses, metal working equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Inspect and measure machine parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems
- Maintain spare parts inventory
- Maintain plant 6S standards
- Adaptable to Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Document time and labor information on appropriate forms to ensure proper accounting of work performed
- Assist in the start‑up of equipment, to include updating safety documentation, technical documentation and updating / coordinating the training of employees
- Support opportunities in the testing and development of new materials and equipment with the Supply Chain Team, Global Purchasing Team, R&D Teams, and Marketing Teams.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities
- Maintain compressors, driers, chillers, cooling towers, and other facility equipment
- Communicate regularly with the plant management, process engineers, and other plants, sharing combined knowledge and information
- Drive a culture of urgency and maintain an informed position regarding plant equipment status.
- Responsible for investigating reliability issues and performing root cause analysis on significant failures
- Must maintain safe & clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Ability to work overtime.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
- 5 years previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
- One year certificate from college or technical school preferred, or 3‑6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong electrical skills (AC DC circuitry) planning and problem‑solving ability
- Knowledge of PLC systems and associated logic
- Knowledge and experience with implementation / repair of AC / DC motor drive systems, frequency converters, power supplies
- Experience with robotic systems / manipulators a plus
- Knowledge and experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, sensors, cylinders, etc.
- Ability to become certified as a forklift operator (training will be provided)
- Lean manufacturing experience a plus
- Network and computer knowledge a plus
- Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Solid math skills
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Must be able to interpret and, as necessary, generate engineering layouts, schematics, and flowcharts a plus
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds of equipment and product; and use both hands in a repetitive motion
- Must be able to work Overtime (OT) – daily and weekend
- Must be able to work as a team
- Must be able to have a valid driver’s license as the job requires to drive company vehicles
