SUMMARY
Assist in managing quality daily operations to ensure product conformity and compliance; manage quality personnel; develop, communicate and report product conformance and quality standards.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following- Hire, manage, train, and evaluate department personnel using performance management and corrective action tools to ensure effective productivity and customer service
- Develop, train, and enforce company quality standards, inspections & test protocols for production materials, and outsourced products
- Develop cross-functional workflows using a variety of software to improve product compliance identification, tracking, and documentation
- Assist in product testing of various product categories, including inspections, testing, documenting, and external regulatory compliance
- Assist with product compliance in company specifications and requirements, and regulatory standards
- Conduct root-cause analysis to conformance standards
- Assist in review of new molds, tooling, and first-attempt samples
- Act as lead with internal and external stakeholders and agencies with regard to product conformance and corrective action
- Maintain and present a variety of product data including conforming and non-conforming records, inspection logs and reports
- Effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using multiple tools to ensure effective visual communication
- Perform similar level or nature of duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience; and,
- Four (4) years’ experience in quality assurance
- Federal, state and local consumable product quality regulations
- Consumer product recall requirements
- Management principles
- Quality industry best practices
- Product specifications and terminology
- External and internal audit procedures and protocols
- Using computer hardware, including keyboard, mouse, monitor, and related hardware
- Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Perform intermediate math, using Microsoft Excel to find percentage, average, median, quartile, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and range values
- Present data and information in a variety of methods
- Continuously challenge oneself and others to improve better operating practices
- Act with urgency
- Prepare reports using a variety of methods from multiple sources of data
- Review data and ensuring accuracy and timeliness and relevancy
- Identify causation of variances

Activities will involve frequent sitting, using a computer, analyzing large amounts of data, communicating verbally and in writing. Exerting 20- 50 pounds occasionally, 10- 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, and hand and eye movement. Move and operate presentation equipment.
Travel to and from meetings and various locations inside and outside the building.

The work environment is frequently within an office setting with low to moderate noise, LED lighting, and temperature control while working alongside large groups of employees in cubicle spaces. Incumbents will attend various business meetings and events inside and outside of the buildings and may be required to travel overnight or out of-town for work. Occasional exposure to the manufacturing and distribution plant consists of moving mechanical parts or heavy machinery, vibrations, fumes, unpleasant odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and moderate to loud noise while in the plant or traveling for work.
Work during evenings and weekends as needed.
