Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic – WM

Lead heavy equipment mechanic responsible for inspection, repair, and maintenance of heavy machinery including bulldozers, scrapers, and front‑end loaders at our waste management facilities.

• Repair equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front‑end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
• Diagnose and repair differential, hydraulic, motor, transmission, drive, air‑conditioning, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance as outlined in the site checklist.
• Maintain paperwork and administrative tasks including work orders, card files, PM checklists, and oil samples.
• Service and maintain ancillary equipment such as light plants, water pumps, welders, and other plant equipment.

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete pre‑employment drug screening and physical examination.

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.
• Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
• Work in both indoor garage/shop conditions and outdoor environments with inclement weather, heat, and humidity.

• Monday – Friday, every week.
• First shift: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Second shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (available).
• Primary location:
  Material disposal facility, Surprise, AZ.
