Where You Will Work

Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulfuric acid for our North American leaching operations. A hands-on learning experience for individuals who have completed a classroom-based HVAC or related training program. This position combines limited classroom instruction focused on Company policies, procedures, and safety standards with structured on-the-job training to build foundational HVAC skills while supporting experienced technicians to maintain reliable and efficient HVAC systems.

• Performs basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting activities under supervision, including observing system operation and identifying abnormal conditions.
• Assists HVAC Technicians with the installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and testing of industrial heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.
• Attend required classroom training sessions as necessary.
• Perform work area and equipment safety inspections.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Completion of HVAC Level 1 Certificate (or equivalent technical training).
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, including safety standards, basic refrigeration concepts, airflow principles, and mechanical systems.
• EPA
  608 Certificate.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in residential or commercial HVAC maintenance and installation.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$21.00 - $27.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.

• Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
