About the Role
Reporting to the Program Advising Manager, the Junior Program Advisor provides administrative and operational support to the Program Advising (PA) team to maximize student enrollments and program starts . This role is key to ensuring prospective and registered students receive timely, accurate information and support throughout the admissions and enrollment process. The position also supports internal collaboration with other departments and contributes to operational efficiency, process improvement, and student engagement.
- Location: Surrey, BC (with potential for a hybrid schedule if needed)
- Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
- Salary: $40k-$45k per year
- Start Date: ASAP
Program Advising Support
- Assist the PA team with program information, application guidance, and enrollment support.
- Build knowledge of programs, industry requirements, and career paths to effectively inform prospective students.
- Conduct outreach including cold calling, emails, and appointment scheduling to promote program interest and special offers.
- Update CRM (Hub Spot, AMP, SharePoint) with accurate lead flow, engagement, and applicant information.
- Arrange entrance testing for prospective students, score results, and maintain records.
- Follow up on missing student documentation, fees, and enrollment package completion.
- Support student file creation and verification of program prerequisites.
- Review student files to ensure compliance with policies and bring issues to the PA Manager.
- Provide post-registration support, keeping students engaged until program start.
- Develop initiatives to decrease cancellations and re-engage withdrawn students.
- Assist with grant program enrollment and provide general guidance on financial assistance.
- Provide coverage for reception duties, including campus opening/closing, breaks, and vacations.
- Support marketing and events, including job fairs and information sessions.
- Assist with staff recognition and team-building activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and graduation ceremonies.
- Provide general administrative support and other duties as assigned.
As the ideal candidate, you possess a strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You bring:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Public Relations, Education Administration, or a related field;
- 1-2 years of experience in program advising, student services, admissions, or administrative support, preferably within the post-secondary or private college sector.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, supporting a team to meet departmental goals.
