Sky Windows Ltd. is a growing commercial glazing contractor specializing in custom curtain wall systems and architectural glazing solutions across British Columbia.
Position SummaryThe Purchaser is responsible for managing material procurement, forward scheduling, and ERP-based inventory control for active and upcoming glazing construction projects. This role ensures materials are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and tracked properly within the ERP system to support project schedules, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Source, price, and procure glazing materials including aluminum extrusions, glass, hardware, gaskets, fasteners, and related components
- Issue purchase orders and manage supplier confirmations, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and volume discounts with suppliers
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers
- Coordinate forward material planning based on project schedules, shop drawings, and production timelines
- Forecast material requirements for upcoming projects and phases
- Identify long-lead items and proactively mitigate supply risks
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Estimating, and Production teams
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system
- Monitor stock levels, usage rates, and reorder points
- Reconcile purchase orders, receipts, and invoices in the ERP
- Generate inventory, purchasing, and usage reports
- Ensure data accuracy across all ERP procurement modules
- Work closely with project teams to align procurement with installation schedules
- Support production planning with real-time material availability data
- Assist accounting with PO matching and cost tracking
- Participate in continuous improvement of procurement and inventory workflows
- 3+ years experience in purchasing or procurement (construction or manufacturing preferred)
- Strong ERP system experience (construction, manufacturing, or supply-chain ERP)
- High level of computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems, document management)
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and vendor-negotiation skills
- Experience in glazing, curtain wall, windows, or construction materials
- Familiarity with shop drawings, take-offs, and construction schedules
- Experience working in a fast-paced project-based environment
