The Faculty of Arts at KPU seeks an established or emerging Indigenous artist, writer, journalist, or knowledge-keeper for a pivotal residency position. This role emphasizes community engagement, cultural healing, and the development of interdisciplinary works across various mediums. Residents can expect collaborative opportunities with faculty and students and will receive substantial compensation and support for events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize events like symposia and public readings
• Lead guest lectures and curated talks
• Consult with diverse writers and artists weekly
• Meet regularly with the Faculty Dean and Associate Dean
• Foster engagement within the KPU community
Requirements:
• Professional experience rooted in Indigenous traditions
• Published work or significant creative projects
• Active in artistic discipline with a portfolio
• Enthusiasm for mentoring and event planning
• Ability to travel across campuses
