Well‑rounded role spanning many areas of accounting & finance – great role for someone who loves variety in their day‑to‑day work! Mid‑size manufacturing company with customers across North America and multi‑national operations. Reporting into the President and directly managing direct reports in accounting.

This mid‑size manufacturing company has a very long history. They manufacture and process products that are needed and enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people. The business is multi‑entity and multi‑currency, with a tight‑knit and laid‑back culture and many long‑standing employees. Total revenues exceed $30M.

Our client is hiring for a new Controller who will report directly to the President and lead/mentor three direct reports in accounting and payroll.

Initially the Controller will take care of typical corporate accounting functions such as multi‑entity & multi‑currency consolidated financial statement preparation, cash‑flow management/banking/treasury, month‑end and quarter‑end close, and overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. With time, the Controller will have the opportunity to take on more variety of tasks as they get to know the business, including financial planning & analysis (including sales and pricing analysis), financial system optimization and upgrades, tax support (with external assistance), and more.

There is also opportunity to gain exposure to other functions such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, and HR, if desired by the new Controller.

We are seeking a well‑rounded accounting professional with at least five years and ideally seven or more years of progressive work experience in most accounting & finance functions.

CPA designation is highly preferred and almost required, though exceptions may be made for candidates who are actively pursuing CPA and have very relevant experience in the manufacturing and distribution sector.

Candidates must be analytical and inquisitive, with a desire to learn the business inside & out and support strategic decisions through their analytical findings.

Strong system skills are essential:
Excel proficiency and experience using an ERP. Experience with payroll systems and Power BI is a plus but can be taught.

Experience mentoring and leading a team of two to five direct reports, and reporting into a President or business owner/founder, is preferred.

Based full‑time in Surrey
. Accessible by bus with plenty of free parking.

The salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills (team management, CPA designation, manufacturing experience, etc.) and ranges from $110,000 to $135,000.
