Job Description & How to Apply Below
Who We Are:

We are a dynamic, growth-oriented and safety-focused company. Our organization has been deemed to be an “essential service” by providing recycling, resource recovery and waste management services that keep our communities clean and safe and valuable materials within the circular economy. We are looking for energetic and driven team members to support our growing company and play a crucial role in achieving our corporate mission and vision.

Emterra Group is proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers, a certified diverse supplier of the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC), the Canadian Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBE) and WEConnect International.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Pricing Analyst who has extensive financial modelling experience, strong analytical rigor, and commercial acumen to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the operations management team and the executive team to develop competitive and strategic pricing for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by various levels of government and commercial organizations. Emterra’s scale demands someone who can navigate imperfect data intelligently and can translate operational realities into pricing logic while balancing win probability with long-term profitability.

The successful candidate will combine sharp financial modeling with real-world operational understanding, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to clearly communicate risk and value across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that Emterra Group remains a leader in the recycling and waste management industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain effective pricing models that win new contracts and retain existing contracts that are profitable and drive sustainable growth.

Analyze financial requirements for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by municipal, provincial, and federal governments, as well as industrial, institutional, and commercial organizations.

Partner closely with the operations management team to understand service requirements, cost inputs, cost structures, and operational cost drivers.

Work closely with the executive team to align pricing strategies with company goals, financial targets, and market conditions.

Conduct market research, costing research, including cost benchmarking and competitive pricing analysis, to support data-driven pricing decisions.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of pricing strategies and make recommendations for improvements based on internal data and market trends.

Prepare detailed and accurate financial models using advanced Excel functions and Power BI tools.

Support contract negotiations by providing informed, data-backed pricing insights and recommendations.

Maintain an organized and up-to-date pricing database and a central library of all RFP submissions.

Lead or contribute to special projects related to pricing, cost optimization, or market analysis.

Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure pricing strategies are realistic, competitive, and executable.

What Will You Bring?

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required); a related field is considered an asset.

Strong analytical skills with deep experience in financial modeling and pricing strategy.

Advanced Excel and Power BI skills, including Power Pivot, logical formulas (IF, VLOOKUP), and dashboards.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong business acumen and understanding of cost structures, margin analysis, and profitability.

Working knowledge and proven ability in Canadian regulatory requirements for costing and preparing pricing models for RFPs.

High attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations and written documents.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to diverse stakeholders.

Experience in the waste management, logistics, or a fast‑paced operational environment is an asset.

This is a fully onsite role based in Surrey, British Columbia.
