Location: Based out of Surrey, BC or Balzac, AB

Dick's Lumber is looking for a seasoned Talent Acquisition Manager to spearhead strategic recruitment initiatives. In this role, you will partner closely with senior leaders to align workforce planning with long term business goals, design and implement scalable recruitment programs and develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract top tier talent. As a trusted advisor to leadership, you will leverage market insights and data-driven analytics to build robust talent pipelines, enhance hiring effectiveness and elevate the organization’s employer brand.

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define and lead the enterprise talent acquisition vision and strategy, aligning workforce planning and hiring priorities with long-term business objectives and growth initiatives
  • Architect and oversee scalable recruitment programs and leadership hiring frameworks, ensuring strong talent pipelines to support organizational expansion.
  • Partner with the senior leaders to anticipate workforce needs, aligning talent strategy with business direction and organizational design.
  • Design and optimize recruitment infrastructure, including job architecture, competency models, sourcing strategy, assessment methodology, and hiring governance.
  • Advise senior leadership on labor market trends, competitive intelligence and talent risks, informing strategic workforce decisions.
  • Drive innovative sourcing and market engagement strategies to build high quality, divers talent pipelines across key functions and leadership levels.
  • Establish performance standards and operational excellence across the recruitment function, ensuring efficiency, scalability and a best-in-class candidate experience.
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform executive decision making, monitor talent performance metrics and optimize quality of hire and organizational effectiveness.
  • Champion employer brand and candidate advocacy, strengthening market positioning and ensuring alignment with organizational values
  • Ensure compliance, governance and risk management standards across all hiring practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience recruiting sales, senior leadership, technical, or hard-to-fill roles.
  • Experience using HR/recruitment software platforms.
  • Background in agency recruitment as well as in-house experience required.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using recruitment metrics and funnel analytics.
  • Excellent relationship-builder - credible, collaborative, and trusted by hiring managers.
  • Previous experience working in industry or a closely related field.
  • Strong people management experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Strong working knowledge of recruitment, best practices and applicable employment legislation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
