Human Resources Business Partner

This position will be hybrid, 2 days remote and 3 days in the office.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR partner for an assigned region, supporting Regional Managers, Branch Managers, and functional leaders in achieving business objectives through effective people strategies. As a trusted advisor, the HRBP provides practical, business‑focused guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and change management. This role is responsible for building strong relationships with leaders and employees across the region, ensuring consistent application of company policies and practices while supporting a positive, high‑performance culture.

Business

Partnership & Leadership Support
  • Serve as the primary HR partner for an assigned region, supporting Regional General Managers, Branch Managers, and department leaders.
  • Provide practical HR guidance and solutions that support operational and business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and employees to understand business needs and proactively address people‑related challenges.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Advise leaders on employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, attendance management, and terminations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Coach leaders on effective people management practices and employee development.
  • Guide leaders through terminations, layoffs, and other employment‑related matters while minimizing organizational risk.
Talent Management & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with leaders to identify workforce needs, support succession planning, and develop internal talent.
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment team on hiring strategies and key talent decisions.
  • Support onboarding and development initiatives that improve employee performance and retention.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Act as a visible and approachable HR presence within the region through regular branch visits and leader interactions.
  • Promote a positive, high‑performance culture aligned with Convoy's values.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and action planning.
  • Assist leaders with organizational changes, restructures, and change management initiatives.
Compliance & HR Programs
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Support annual HR programs including performance reviews, compensation reviews, talent assessments, and employee development initiatives.
  • Analyze workforce trends and provide recommendations to improve employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee matters.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives that enhance employee experience and business performance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of HR programs, processes, and tools.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant employee relations experience.
  • CPHR designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting leaders in operational, distribution, construction, manufacturing, or multi‑site environments is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to build credibility and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to balance employee needs with operational requirements.
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
