About The JobWe are actively recruiting for this role to fill an existing vacancy. The position partners closely with our R&D organization—Engineering, Product, Design, and Data Science—to design, implement, and manage compensation programs that attract, motivate, and retain top technical talent. This role serves as a strategic advisor to leaders and HR Business Partners, bringing deep expertise in benchmarking, market trends, job architecture, and equity compensation within high‑growth tech environments.
Responsibilities include shaping our compensation philosophy for R&D, guiding annual and mid‑year cycles, leveling and job framework decisions, and advising on offers, promotions, and pay equity analyses.
Responsibilities- Facilitate corporate compensation programs such as annual review cycles, promotion cycles, pay equity reviews, market calibrations, and survey participation.
- Design and deliver compensation structures and methodologies that scale for long‑term durability and global expansion, and create and deliver training materials on compensation fundamentals for leaders and managers.
- Create dynamic compensation models and dashboards, analyze data, and recommend solutions based on insights.
- Partner with stakeholders and subject‑matter experts from other teams to address evolving business needs.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, leaders, internal and external partners with emotional intelligence, curiosity, and integrity.
- Develop policies and processes that support innovation and growth while ensuring compliance and minimizing risk; memorialize key decisions and add them to the compensation repository.
- Act as a trusted advisor, partnering with HR Business Partners and senior leaders to understand operational issues and opportunities and create automated solutions to scale.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably supporting technical organizations.
- Experience with equity compensation structures at a publicly traded company.
- Excellent project management skills and experience with compensation program design, delivery, and change management.
- Strong compensation analytics background with modeling, dashboards, and advanced proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Experience with Human Resources Information System (preferably Workday).
- Experience with market pricing, survey participation, and accessing survey data from providers.
- Extensive knowledge of HR products and services and awareness of HR strategy around talent identification, attraction, engagement, and retention.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills for communication at all levels.
- Owner mindset, innovative thinking, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Laser‑focus on quality of deliverable and customer solution.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with ambiguity.
- Prior experience in an R&D compensation consulting role.
- Prior experience with PAVE, Compa, or other compensation tools.
Remote. Based in Ontario, British Columbia or Alberta, Canada.
TravelOccasional travel may be required for project or team in‑person meetings.

Additional compensation options may include incentive programs, commissions, equity grants, health and wellness benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off. Estimated pay ranges: $109,600 – $137,000, with a target bonus of 15%.
