We are seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant with 3 years of experience to join our Firm.

About the role

Duties include

  • Opening, organizing, and closing files
  • Drafting and sending correspondence, authorizations, and discovery appointments
  • Managing intake of documents and file-related materials and updating binders
  • Preparing litigation documents and pleadings, including application records and Briefs of Authorities
  • Scheduling mediations, XFDs, trials, client meetings, and maintaining electronic calendars
  • Maintaining a BF and limitation system
  • Frequent communication with opposing counsel, adjusters, and clients
  • Other administrative tasks as needed
About you
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience as an LAA
  • Knowledge of BC litigation processes and court procedures
  • Proficient with MS Word and Outlook
  • Solid understanding of litigation procedures, court filing, and service procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
