The salary range for this position is CAD $55.25 - $79.42 / hour
Job SummaryFraser Health is a leading provider in the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley area. The Senior Project Manager will lead the design and construction of the new Surrey Hospital and Cancer Centre, a complex integration of a community hospital and regional cancer centre. The project is anticipated to complete in late 2029 and will provide acute care services, virtual health, inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical services and integrated cancer care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the planning and implementation of new facilities and large renovation projects from initial design through to completion.
- Establish project team structure, provide leadership, assign work, orientate staff, conduct performance evaluations.
- Communicate project status, progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership.
- Ensure project management methodologies are followed, monitor budget, schedule, scope, risks and deliverables.
- Lead business plan development for large capital projects, including feasibility studies and funding strategies.
- Lead design, construction and commissioning activities, sign off on drawings and specifications and ensure compliance with standards, codes and sustainability goals.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with professional consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Serve as site coordinator and liaise with municipal planning and engineering departments for permits and approvals.
- Maintain quality control, risk management and safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain staff training and professional development plans.
- Advise on emerging facility design and innovations to update standards and guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline.
- 7–10 years of recent, related experience managing large scale institutional projects.
- Experience with Design Build, Alliance Contracting, Progressive Design Build, or Integrated Project Delivery.
- Strong knowledge of capital project planning, design, construction, procurement and contract administration.
- Professional designation such as P.E., RIBA or similar is an asset; PMP certification is an asset.

- Supervisory and coaching skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
