Manager of Michif Language Programs

Lead Michif language learning initiatives with Métis Nation British Columbia in a full-time, hybrid role. Focus on program development, budgeting, and team management to revitalize Michif language education.

In this managerial role, you will oversee the delivery and coordination of Michif language programs, ensuring initiatives align with the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language's goals. You will manage program budgets, supervise staff, and collaborate with Michif speakers and external partners to enhance learning opportunities. Your expertise in language revitalization will be essential for crafting accessible educational resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Michif learning program development and delivery

• Manage a program budget, including forecasts and expenditures

• Supervise, train, and mentor a small team

• Build relationships with vendors for effective contract management

• Ensure best practices in language teaching methodologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

• Minimum five years of experience in language programming

• At least two years of team management experience

• Knowledge of Michif languages and Métis culture

• Strong project and financial management skills
