Mechanical workshop manager

Role Overview

As a mechanical workshop manager you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising workshop activities. Your goal is to optimize performance and profitability while supporting your team in achieving their objectives.

• Manage work orders and production schedules in collaboration with the technical advisor and service manager.
• Assign work orders to mechanics according to their skills, explain the nature of the work and supervise its execution.
• Prepare estimates and ensure compliance with predefined rates (Flat Rate).
• Approve work orders before invoicing and support the service manager in explaining work and costs to the customer.
• Work with the sales department to gather the information needed to prepare new and used equipment.
• Prioritize returns to the workshop and ensure immediate follow-up.
• Communicate regularly with advisors on the progress of operations.
• Plan mechanics' schedules and participate in their annual appraisals.
• Organize and lead in-house training sessions, while ensuring knowledge transfer during manufacturer training sessions.
• Manage tool supplies and workshop organization.
