Become a part of Tla’amin Health as a Casual Cook, dedicated to serving nutritious meals in a safe and healthy environment. This on-demand role is ideal for those with a passion for child nutrition.
In the Casual Cook position at the Tla’amin Health and Child Development Resource Centre, you will create balanced meals, adhere to safety and cleanliness standards, and manage food supplies effectively. Familiarity with Canada’s Food Guide and nutrition for children is crucial. Responsibilities also include temperature checks and deep cleaning cooking equipment on a schedule, ensuring a hygienic food preparation area.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and serve healthy lunches following the nutritional guidelines
• Clean and maintain all cooking facilities and equipment
• Keep track of food inventory and make necessary purchases
• Daily temperature logging for freezer and refrigerator
• Perform regular sanitation of cooking surfaces and equipment
Requirements:
• Minimum high school diploma (Grade 12)
• Experience or training from a recognized cooking program preferred
• Current Food Safe certification
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
