Scope of Position

The Sales Manager leads sales growth and business development in the Vancouver region. This role oversees regional sales strategies, monitors forecasts, and implements market initiatives to ensure consistent execution. The position includes coaching and developing direct reports while fostering accountability and excellence. Meeting and surpassing sales and margin targets is essential, as success in this role directly impacts regional performance and overall business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate sales, customer service, and support teams to drive performance and engagement.
  • Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on sales performance through regular analysis (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Prepare and manage branch budgets, forecasts, and key account portfolios.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained for their roles and that training remains current and effective.
  • Participate in setting, tracking, and maintaining branch goals and operational objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key customers through regular calls and site visits.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors to increase product knowledge, awareness, and sales growth.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with vendors and promptly address customer issues or concerns.
  • Oversee sales, customer service, and administrative functions within the branch.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings and address day‑to‑day personnel matters requiring management action.
  • Represent the company positively within the local market and industry community and contribute to strategic and future planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • College/University Diploma required (Business, sales & Marketing, or technical focus preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related experience, preferably in a Sales/Distribution environment.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Previous industry experiences an asset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Must have your own reliable transportation.
  • Out-of-town travel may be required as needed.
  • When visiting customers within city limits, the expectation will be to come into the office at the beginning of the day and near the end of the day.
  • Most trips are scheduled and pre‑planned, but there may be occasional trips with minimal notice.
