As a Restoration Technician (Internally known as Restoration Technician II), you'll use your growing technical skills to help restore homes and businesses while supporting emergency response and remediation work. You'll gain deeper experience with specialized tools and processes while ensuring every project runs safely and efficiently.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTORATION TECHNICIAN
As a Restoration Technician, you bring both skill and energy to every job. You'll assess damage, set up drying and deodorization systems, and carry out water, mold, and asbestos remediation following industry standards. You'll support and sometimes lead response crews, coordinate site setup, and ensure equipment, scaffolding, and safety systems are properly in place. You'll work closely with your team to solve problems on-site, communicate progress, and make sure each project moves smoothly from start to finish.
Your technical know-how and steady focus help bring structure, safety, and confidence back to every space you touch.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in the restoration/emergency industry, preferably working in the Emergency & Contents division.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new techniques and equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, mobile devices and relevant applications
- Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
- Knowledge of water remediation procedures consistent with the IICRC S-500 Standard
- Basic understanding of all equipment used in water damaged environments
- College certification in environmental i.e. Environmental Technician an asset
- Water Remediation Technician (WRT) certification
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Provincial Asbestos certification, preferred
- Valid full class driver's license and clear driver's abstract depending
- Fit test and other safety certifications
- Includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule
- Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear
