Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications, prepare layouts, and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Measure, cut, and join materials made of wood or wood substitutes.
• Help build wooden structures.
• Fit and install trim items, such as moulding and hardware.
• Supervise other helpers.
• Ensure compliance to agreed codes and procedures including health and safety.
• Help owner in preparing cost estimates for furniture being built.
