Join the City of Surrey's Engineering Operations team, reporting to the Fleet & Garage Manager. As a skilled Tradesperson, you will perform mechanical overhauls, servicing, and repairs for light and heavy-duty vehicles. This role also involves troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform repairs on trucks, excavators, snowplows, and more
• Conduct inspections using diagnostic equipment to identify issues
• Service engines, hydraulic components, and braking systems
• Fabricate and weld components as needed
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and customers
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or GED completion
• Heavy-Duty or Automotive Mechanic Qualification
• Minimum 6 months of relevant mechanic experience
• Valid BC Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction
