Overview:Our well-established construction outfit is hiring a 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in Ashton (near Ottawa), ON, to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of off-road equipment. Ideal candidates are Red Seal certified with 5+ years’ experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Inspect heavy construction and off-road equipment to identify performance issues, wear, and mechanical failures
- Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostics and other testing equipment
- Disassemble, assemble, adjust, and repair major components and systems on heavy equipment
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and preventative service work
- Red Seal 421A certification or equivalent heavy equipment mechanic experience
- 5+ years of certified experience working on heavy-duty or off-road equipment
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills
- Ability to complete major mechanical repairs, including component assembly and disassembly
- Own tools required to perform the job
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Experience working in fleet or construction environments
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $45.00 and $48.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
